King Edward’s School and the Great War opened as an exhibition in the school chapel in 2014 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Great War and the 1,400+ boys and masters from the school who fought in it.
We worked with the school, using items from the exhibition, such as letters and photographs of the boys in their service uniform, along with graphical symbols like the poppy, to create a powerful identity which illustrated their incredible stories and showed the impact the war had on the boys and their families, the school and the city of Birmingham.
We continue to work with King Edward’s School to create its exhibitions, including the second phase of the Great War Exhibition in 2016, commemorating the centenary of the Battle of the Somme and the 52 Old Edwardians who lost their lives. Our contribution included artwork for specially-made exhibition panels to fit the architecture of the school, graphics for pop-up counters, images for interactive iPad displays and other printed collateral such as bookmarks.
